HG InsightsHG Insights Legacy Platform vs. New Platform

First things first: Nothing you've built gets left behind

Your core HG data — technographic, IT spend, and firmographic — is the same underlying data on both platforms. These come with you:

  • Segments and saved searches
  • MI reports (TAM / SAM / SOM)
  • CRM connections and settings
  • Scoring profiles
  • Export history
  • Remaining credits (Full Migration path only)
THE BIG SHIFT

From a data source to a GTM contextual platform

In V2, you had HG’s third-party intelligence: firmographics, technographics, intent, IT Spend, and more.

HG's Contextual Intelligence Platform brings that together with the first-party signals only you have — CRM history, website activity, product usage, support data, past wins and losses.

Now scoring, prioritization, and next actions can be informed by both sides of the picture.

What’s new — and what’s different

A closer look at the changes that matter most in how you work.

Included with migrationOptional add-on

Your migration includes Market Analyzer. Data Studio and Sales Copilot are available separately as optional add-ons, giving you additional ways to unify data, prioritize accounts, and support sales execution. Each section below is labeled so you know where it lands.

Together they are what turns the new platform into the place you centralize your first- and third-party signals — and act on them across inbound, outbound, and sales execution.

01

Contact data

New in CI PlatformOptional add-on — Sales Copilot

For years, finding the right people at a target account meant leaving HG Insights, searching a separate tool like ZoomInfo, then manually matching what you found back to the account signals that made them worth reaching. Now that data lives right in the platform. It's pre-matched to the same firmographic, technographic, spend, and intent signals you already use, so every contact carries the context that made them relevant in the first place: their title, seniority, function, and the signal behind the outreach. It runs through more than 20 data sources in sequence, verifying the email and phone number in real time, the moment you pull the contact. You're getting the reason to reach out, right where you already work.

Sales Copilot

New in CI PlatformOptional add-on — Sales Copilot

V2 could tell you which accounts to go after — but that was where the workflow largely stopped. You could filter by technographic signals, spend, intent, and other criteria to build a strong account list, but acting on those insights happened elsewhere.

CI Platform adds Sales Copilot, which helps reps prioritize who to act on next and why. It brings together signals such as upcoming competitive renewals, live TrustRadius intent, MQL activity, hiring signals, and other account events into a prioritized view of where attention is needed now.

From there, reps can move directly into action. Plays connect the signal to a next step in tools like Outreach, Salesloft, or Gong, while the AI Playbook Builder can help configure new plays from a plain-language description of what you want to accomplish.

And Sales Copilot is available wherever reps work. The same experience can be accessed in CI Platform, directly inside Salesforce, or through the Chrome extension while researching on company websites, LinkedIn, Outreach, and other browser-based tools. V2 did surface some HG account data inside Salesforce, but not the full Sales Copilot experience with contacts, recent activity, account briefs, prioritized signals, and actionability.

What changes: V2 helped you identify promising accounts. Sales Copilot turns those account signals into a prioritized action queue — and brings that context into the places reps already work, so they can understand what is happening, identify the right people, and decide what to do next without constantly switching between tools.

AI outbound scoring

New in CI PlatformIncluded with migration

V2 Account scoring helps you prioritize accounts based on the criteria and signals available in the platform. In CI Platform, scoring becomes AI-driven, product-aware and easier to understand.

The new platform researches your business and offerings, builds an ideal customer profile for each product, and evaluates accounts against the opportunities most relevant to them. Instead of relying on a score alone, reps can quickly see letter-grade tiers such as A, B and C, then go deeper into the signals and reasoning behind the result.

Copilot adds another layer of transparency, helping users understand why an account scored the way it did rather than simply seeing the output.

What changes: You still get account prioritization.

CI Platform makes that prioritization more specific to what you sell, more transparent in how it is calculated, and easier for reps to interpret and use.

AI inbound scoring

New in CI PlatformOptional add-on — Data Studio

V2's scoring works at the account level and runs on HG's third-party data alone: firmographic, technographic, intent, and spend signal. It can tell you an account looks like a fit. It can't tell you which lead at that account is worth a rep's next hour.

Data Studio's first- and third-party scoring model scores both the account and the individual lead. It blends your CRM history in with HG's third-party data: your closed-won deals, your sales team's own feedback on what actually converted, layered onto firmographic, demographic, technographic, intent, and spend signal. Build the model as a decision tree or a simple point-based rule set, score leads in real time the moment they fill out a form, or in batch as more CRM data comes in. Every scored lead lands with a fit segment attached, very good, good, medium, or low, not just a number.

If your team runs on high-volume inbound or a product-led growth motion, this is the model built for that. It's also the more involved of the two CI Platform scoring models to configure. If you need scoring live fast, AI Scoring gets you there quicker.

05

Market sizing

Included with migrationFull TAM / SAM / SOM analysis

V2: Define a market using filters, then see the number of companies in that segment and their forecast spend over the next 12 months.

CI Platform: Market Analyzer builds on the same bottom-up approach and HG IT Spend data, but gives you more context around the market you are defining. Instead of a single result, it shows how your opportunity narrows from the full TAM, to the SAM based on factors such as geography and industry, to the SOM after applying more specific criteria such as revenue, employee range and installed products.

What changes: The underlying market-sizing foundation is familiar. What changes is the way the opportunity is framed. CI Platform lets you see not just the size of a target segment, but where that segment sits within the broader market opportunity.

Competitive analysis

Included with migrationDedicated module

V2: Competitive analysis is possible across several views. You can examine competitor footprint and market share, segment that presence by factors such as geography, industry, revenue and employee range, and track new product detections over time.

CI Platform: Competitive analysis becomes a dedicated experience within Market Analyzer. Define the competitors you care about, then see their penetration across TAM, SAM and SOM, how that presence is changing over time, where competitors are strongest by segment, where new product detections are happening, which large accounts show recent competitor presence, and which departments those competitors are reaching.

IT spend data

Included with migrationMore customizable spend categories

Spend intelligence gives GTM teams a more defensible view of market and account potential — helping leaders build more equitable territories, prioritize markets, allocate resources, and make higher-confidence decisions about where and how to deploy sales capacity.

V2: HG IT Spend provides granular, bottom-up spend estimates across 140+ technology categories, giving customers a more specific view of market and account potential than broad total-spend estimates.

CI Platform: The underlying spend intelligence remains the same, but CI Platform gives you more flexibility in how you apply it. You can combine multiple spend categories and assign different percentages to each, creating a spend model that more closely reflects how your own products or services map to the market. Those assumptions then carry through the TAM, SAM and SOM views in Market Analyzer.

What changes: V2 gives you granular category-level spend intelligence. CI Platform gives you more control over how that intelligence is modeled for your business — making it easier to align market opportunity with the way you actually sell.

First-party intent from TrustRadius

New in CI PlatformOptional add-on — Sales Copilot

Intent is most useful when it tells you not just that an account may be interested, but what they are actually evaluating.

V2: TrustRadius’ first-party intent is not available. Customers may already use third-party intent to identify accounts showing increased interest in topics or categories, but those signals typically provide limited visibility into the specific buyer activity behind them.

CI Platform: TrustRadius’ first-party intent adds a more transparent, lower-funnel signal based on activity happening directly on TrustRadius. You can see when an account views product pages, reads reviews, checks pricing, or compares specific products — along with the actual products involved and the activity that generated the signal.

TrustRadius research shows that 57% of active evaluators plan to purchase within three months and 72% within six months, while buyers spend an average of nine minutes on comparison pages.

What changes: CI Platform adds a new layer of buyer intent alongside third-party signals. Instead of seeing only that an account is showing interest in a topic, you can see the product-evaluation behavior behind the signal — giving sales and marketing more context on what the account is considering and how close that activity may be to a purchase decision.

A guided, four-step migration

Every migration is planned and confirmed with your team before anything changes, and your 20-day dual access window means nothing is a surprise.

  1. 1

    Review

Your CSM and account team review your Platform v2 configuration, enrichment volume, and usage to determine your credit tier and migration path.

  2. 2

    Migrate

HG runs a backend migration script that ports your segments, CRM connections, scoring profiles, and export history to your new CI Platform tenant.

  3. 3

    Explore

You get dual access to both platforms for up to 20 days to explore the CI Platform and confirm everything looks right.

  4. 4

    Cutover

Platform v2 access is turned off once you confirm you are comfortable with the transition.

Your credit tier and any cost implications are based on your current Platform v2 usage, enrichment volume, and configuration. This is confirmed directly by your CSM or Account Manager as part of your migration review; a guided, white-glove process, not a self-serve fee.
